System Engineer
Description:
We are looking for a suitable candidate for a 1-year contract System Engineer position.
Responsibilities/Function:
- System support, maintenance and administration
- Develop tools to improve system operational effectiveness
- Coordinate, manage and implement adhoc projects
Requirements:
- At least two years of strong working experience in the Windows platform
- Must have strong knowledge and hands-on experience in Active Directory, TCP/IP, IIS, SQL Server and SQL
- Candidates with experience in Citrix and VB scripting will have an advantage
- A good team player with strong anlytical and planning capabilities
- Resourceful, independent, responsive and proactive
- At least a Diploma in a computer-related field

Network Centre Operator
Responsibilities/Function:
- Monitor the global enterprise network
- 1st level support on network issues and resolving network issues where possible
- Raise alerts and escalate issues to the next level support staff
- Work 12-hour shift including working on Sundays and public holidays
Requirements:

System Support Engineer
Description:
The incumbent will support daily operational activities and ensure changes and incidents are performed in accordance to change and incident management standards and guidelines.
Responsibilities/Function:
- Conduct operating system health periodically in accordance with the daily, weekly and monthly checklists
- Conduct application health check in accordance with the standard procedures and guidelines
- Daily reporting on activities performed during the shift e.g. shift reporting, change request reporting
- Perform system administration and maintenance function (Wintel, UNIX and AS400)
- Escalate application issues to the relevant parties
- Perform system and security updates
- Maintain user profiles and groups
- Review change requests for compliance with the change management process and standard and enforce the standard
- Implement/Rollback of change requests in accordance with the change management standard and guidelines
- Perform SQL, DB2 and/or Oracle database changes in accordance with the change management process and standard
- Assist the relevant parties in isolating causes of incidents and resolving them within the service level agreement
- Perform tape backup, ensure that backups are performed successfully, retrieve and store backup tapes at the relevant sites and administration of backup retrieval and storage
- Schedule backups and coordinate and perform restore when needed
- Work with the Tape Librarian to ensure that the correct tapes and there is sufficient scratch pool available for daily operations
- Ensure that parties visiting the various support areas are duly authorized
- Ensure compliance of security standards
- Assist the Shift Lead as and when required
Requirements:
- At least 1 year experience in Windows and/or UNIX system administration
- Experience in AS400 is an advantage
- Experience in Data Centre operations preferred
- Experience in
- MS SQL Server, Oracle or DB2
- Tape backup
- Performing system patches - Preferably a Diploma or above in Computer Science or a related field
- Diligent, conscientious
- Able to work independently
- Able to work shift
